Keep reading below to find out more of Pratibha’s music journey and her experience working on this incredible album.

Who or what are some of your biggest music inspirations?

“There are many artists from whom I get inspired, but if I have to name a few then: Ustad Rashid Khan Sahab, Mehdi Hasan sahab ,Madhurani ji, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston & more.”

How did you get into music?

“I have always been into music since my childhood, only that I didn’t know about it. I realised it when I was in my late school years… and then I decided music was my career and started working towards it. I couldn’t be more thankful to God for blessing me with music.”

Tell us about your recent collaboration in “Unbounded (Abaad)”.

“I got the opportunity to be a part of “Unbounded (Abaad) “ which is composed & executed by Sitar Maestro Purbayan Chatterjee. I sang “Intezaar (The Wait)” with Ustad Rashid Khan Sahab . It’s a beautiful thumri with very modern arrangements. This will surely touch your hearts.” You can listen to Intezaar (The Wait) here.

What is your creative process and how did you integrate it with the other artist’s in the collaboration for “Unbounded (Abaad)”?
“Well, Purbayan ji made it so easy for all the artists. He was the key to get to every artist, like the legendary Gary Husband, and everybody was extremely kind & appreciative towards the new talent. The song turned out incredibly well and the cohesion of the variety of artists, all from different cultures, was impressive.”

How have the artists you’ve worked with impacted you?

“I always get inspired by the artists that I get to work with! “ Unbounded “ did the same to me . Due to my lack of knowledge about western classical music, I didn’t listen to it much but after collaborating with the best international artists in Unbounded, I have started following western music a lot, especially Jazz.”

Who would you love to collaborate with next?

“I would love to sing for AR Rahman sir. Eagerly & patiently waiting for the opportunity.”
